Test Platform

We downloaded, installed, and tested DVD95Copy Pro to run on two test computers. One computer was an Athlon AMD 64 X2 4800 Dual-Core processor running at 2.4GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Sony DRU-510A DVD/RW drive 32X (CD) and 12X (DVD). The other computer, a Gateway E06500D, with an Intel Pentium(R) running at 3GHz, 1GB of memory, 100GB hard drive, and a Plextor PX-708A DVD/RW drive (40X (CD) and 12X (DVD).

Installation & Test Results

The installation was flawless on both test computers. The original DVD movie was "Rush Hour 2" (a DVD-9) starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The movie runtime was 123 minutes. We selected the Movie Only option. Upon inserting the original DVD movie and pressing the "Start" button, 18 minutes lapsed until we were prompted to insert blank DVD media. The DVD movie burning process was less than 10 minutes. We then inserted the copied DVD movie in our DVD player and the copy quality was Near-DVD Quality because we compressed the original DVD-9 movie to fit on a DVD-5 disc. The same process was perform on our second test computer and it took 19 minutes to copy the movie and approximately 13 minutes to burn the movie to DVD. We encountered a problem playing several of the copied DVDs in our DVD player.

DVD95Copy Pro

Pros

Easy installation and easy to use. With the problems corrected in the previous version, the program ran well and produced good copies of all DVD movies we copied. We were really struck at how fast DVD95Copy Pro produced copies. We initially though the application was not making full backups. But it made full copies in less than 30 minutes.

Cons

DigiMedic Tech fixed an annoying problem that appeared in the previous version. DVD95 Copy Pro did not automatically eject the original DVD when the ripping process as complete and it did not automatically eject the copied DVD when the burning process was completed. This is minor.

Quality of Copy

For those DVDs that played well, the audio and video quality was good on compressed DVD and excellent on 1:1 copies were there was no compression.

Customer/Technical Support

We Emailed DVD95Copy Produring normal working hours just to see how quickly they would respond. Within an hour, a response was received. Their website has an excellent customer support system in place as well as an excellent forum.

Final Comments

DVD95Copy Pro installed quickly and without a hitch. Upon launching the application, we found the Graphical User Interface (GUI) easy to use and navigate. While DVD95Copy Pro did not have an extensive feature set, it had enough changeable parameters to allow copying a Full DVD, Movie Only, 1:1 copy as well as including/excluding subtitles and various audio languages. It has a very fast burning engine.
